INTRODUCTION

On the 10th April 1912, a colossal ship named  the Titanic set out   on her maiden voyage from England to New York in the USA. She was the length of 3 football pitches or 22 buses. Travelling across the Atlantic Ocean. She had luxurious rooms, including  1st class dining rooms and a sauna.

THE TITANIC’S  UNSINKBLE DESIGN

The Titanic’s captain, Edward J Smith, was due to retire, this was his last voyage. She was made of iron so was extremely heavy however, White Star line were still saying she was ”unsinkable.” She was carrying 2223 passengers, some poor, some rich.

   DISASTER STRIKES

The lookout’s in the ship’s crows nest were feeling tired as their shift was finishing , just as they were  climbing down they spotted a gargantuan iceberg straight in front of them. The look outs sent a distress call to the Captain and as soon as he received it he rapidly steered the ship away. Where as in the crows nest the look outs saw the ghostly iceberg bashed the side of the ship and  water gushed in.

THE SINKING

As the water gushed in the stern of the boat began to sink. Three cabins were quickly flooded. Thomas Andrews, the ships designer ,whispered to the captain ”If 4 or more cabins are flooded the ship will sink!”As soon as Thomas finished the captain ordered the life to be lowered.

titanic

 CARPATHIA TO THE RESUE

People struggled to climb aboard the life boats and as the last life boat was lowered about 1500 people were on board the Titanic.  the captain sent a distress call in Morse code. 50 miles away a ship named the Carpathia  received the distress call and soon was on her way to help the Titanic. 2 hours later the Carpathia was at the Titanic. The Captain was soon assessing the problem and he was pulling people out of the water while making his way to the Titanic. When he he got there he started haling people on. The ship  was full and after about 20 minutes the Carpathia was sailing away. 1517 passengers died that night.

She was292 meters long which is also the same length  as 22 buses. Despite being made of iron the Titanic was still considered unsinkable. The people who claimed the Titanic to be unsinkable worked for White Star Line. Inside this magnificent ship there were ballrooms, libraries and loads more brilliant things to amuse it’s people.

THE DISASTER OF THE TITANIC.

IN the crows nest the lookouts spotted an iceberg.”ICEBERG DEAD AHEAD !” They yelled.

They were right it was only 500 miles away which is only 457 meters. They immediately  sounded the alarm and the helmsman spun the wheel starboard. Water gushed into compartments 1, 2 and 3. The Designer of the ship got out his plans and in a quiet voice said to the Captain.

“The ship can only stay afloat for 1 and a half hours!”

Unfortunately the stern of this magnificent ship began to go down.    illiceberg

Without hesitation Captain J. Smith ordered a wireless operator to send out a distress call.

INTO THE LIFEBOATS

Panic and pandemonium grew, the passengers were absolutely terrified!

But the life boats were being lowered into the ocean then everyone realized that they were only half full then people started screaming.

“BE CAREFUL!”

Men shouted, as there wives floated away into the distance. Water stretched over the front of the stern, men ran to the  bow of this immense shiISBPOCAQ42ZYUCAA70EXFCAHQ6XDHCAYT7EHVCAT0ACUDCAI1LTXBCAS9HHE1CA2JCJJYCAVN6PQXCAK2AFO9CA7580V1CA8UVGCACAOUEW54CAZO2WOBCASACIJ5CAL69C7DCAXI5XB1CAJTKWKPp, but all of a sudden the  bow started to rise.

The captain to the rescue

Shortly after the captainof  Carparthia was on his way to the disaster scene, loads of people jumped off the sides of the ship, then the boat was so close  to being up straight like  big Ben, people were swimming for dear life,  then the ship was up straight, not long after people were still swimming when the ship crashed down on over 200 people.

2 hours later the ship had gone, people were so scared that the lifeboats had sailed away, but one , one only lifeboat had stayed, the carefully it sailed through hundreds of dead bodies, every person they went past they picked them up to see if they had survived.

An hour later the carpathia arrived and took people from the lifeboats on the ship and asked for there names.

The captain was heard to say.

“It was horrible just to see all those bodies !”

And the people who survived still would never forgive White Star Line…77035589

The Titanic was three foot ball pitches long which as a result made her the largest moveable object in the world at that time. As well as that she had three gigantic propellers, each one as large as a windmill. She had luxurious, gorgeous facilities in the inside rooms.

The Titanic was made out of  iron,  however white star line said that the ship was unsinkable. Sadly they were wrong! The Titanic could fit 2223 passengers on board at the time. The Titanic could have 1288 passergers on board.

It was 23:40 when the look outs in the crows nest saw an enormous iceberg dead ahead. They immediately rang the warning bell as well as shouting  to the crew and the captain. As soon as the captain received the message, he ordered the ship to be turned. At 23:30 the ship began to take on water into the into the first four compartments.

Captain Smith orderd all  the life boats had flided up whith women and chilldern before being louerd into the darkness of the Atlantic. As a consequens of the confuson on the deck peolpe rushed in fornt of the other causing desruption and the lifeboats to be only half  filled .Finally as the last life boat left the Titanic the doomed liner let out a huge crack before pluging into the freezing water.

A few hours later/as the surviors huddled together. The carpathia arrived. The caption of the  carpitha was horrfied at what he saw. However he manged to rescue 600 people.tragically over 1/500 people lost thier in the distaer.

A Lucky escape

At 23:30 the ship began to sink slowly, water began to gush in to the bottom of the ships compartments  . The life boats got  lowered down one by one and rowed away from the Titanic. However there weren’t enough life boats because white star line didn’t think the Titanic would sink . The survivors huddled together as  the Titanic began to snap slowly in half . The passengers were scared and said it was all white star lines fault,  the others were too busy worrying .

Introduction

On 10th April 1912, a gargantuan ship named Titanic set off on her maiden voyage from England to New York, America.  The creator of the colossal ship was White Star Lines, her captain was Edward J. Smith.

Titanic Unsinkable Design?

She was made of iron as well as being 882 ft long and 46,000 tons furthermore the creator of the Titanic  was Liam Hoggs .

Disaster Strikes .

High in the crows nest the watchman spotted a colossal iceberg 50-100 feet high, furthermore it was 200- 400 feet long. Unfortunately  the captain did not believe it could sink until they struck the iceberg…..

Lucky Escape

“Starboard , head star board” yelled the captain as he realised  that the Titanic could not survive the impact.Despite the Titanic being capable of 22 1/2 knots she still couldn’t evade the monstrous ice berg!

As the bow shot up and the stern sunk into the ocean like an elephant and a mouse on a loose sea saw.

A Ship in the Mist

Then……        ………the event that shocked the world……      ………the great Titanic snapped in half like a giant crushing a toothpeg.

as the life boats rowed back to  a safe distance the Titanic plunged into the dark gloomy waters . The people were terrified and very cold shivering  in the boats  as the sound of moaning roamed as well as teeth clicking together, 1,517 died and only a mere 706 survived .

As all hopes were lost a ship faintly appeared in the mist. Although The Carpathia being 58 mils away from the Titanic when it had sunk and  a 3 hour journey  it was extremely quick to reach the scene.as they picked up the people in the life boats and rapped them warm in blankets as they were  sailed back to shore.

AND THAT IS THE END OF THE TITANIC…..
